Selected images from a month in the Wyndham/Kununurra area. Myself and assistants Jo Eames and Kelsey Howe were exploring the waters of the Cambridge Gulf looking for dolphins, as part of my PhD research with Murdoch University on inshore dolphins in the Kimberley.

Unfortunately, the dolphins appeared to be few and far between in this muddy, turbulent estuary system. Those we did encounter were very shy and difficult to approach - I had more luck photographing the birds and scenery, as you can see...

Look at those colours!! Absolutely stunning. You'll have to teach me some new birds, please. I can't wait to explore this area with you in the future :)
